Near the airport, it is largest lodge property which is usually the start and end point of an Amankora journey. Paro lodge is a 30 minutes’ drive from Paro International Airport where international flights from Bangkok, Delhi, Kolkata, Singapore and Kathmandu land.
Hidden in thick pine walls, rooms in each of the suites are clad in wood and black steel paneling. The dining room features a terrace overlooking a small stream. Views extend to snow-covered Jumolhari and the ruins of the ancient dzong. Paro’s two-story spa is surrounded by glistening conifers in the forest. Try a herb-infused hot stone bath, followed by a traditional massage. Facilities include a glass-walled yoga studio, a sauna, steam room, changing areas. The five treatment rooms each have a shower and an outdoor bath.
